Water Into Stone: A Dryland Journal is part homage, part quest, and and wholly a celebration of life nurtured and challenged by the vagaries of climate, economy, and politics on the dry side of North America.
Each new post is a journey, steered by recent events and new takes on ancient processes and customs, to consider alternative thoughts and lifeways. My driving purpose is to narrate paths for my readers to travel, so there are links to deeper study, opportunities for involvement, invitations to take action, and always, an opportunity to respectfully exchange ideas and knowledge via the comments section.
About B.
B. Frank has long rambled the drylands, hiking and climbing trails and cliffs, fishing creeks and skiing the slopes of the mountains, and running rivers through the canyons. A long-time contributor to Mountain Gazette (ca 2001 - 2013), his musings have appeared in anthologies (When in Doubt, Go Higher; Comeback Wolves; Colorado Mountain Dogs) and journals. He is the author of Livin’ The Dream: Testing the Ragged Edge of Machismo [Raven’s Eye Press, 2010], and has recently emerged from an extended contemplation of time passing and water flowing.
